Hi, I wonder if anyone has had the same problem as I'm having. I have gas central heating, which I find excellent but the radiator in my living room seems to be way too close to the wall. It's 1.5 cms away from the wall.
When I moved in 2013 i noticed that the fluff (dust bunnies) underneath the radiator was black. However, now there is black coming from the radiator going up the wall onto and across the ceiling! It's getting much worse and as I'm about to decorate for the second time I obviously need to get to the bottom of it. Actually, it's a baffling problem because my paintwork (doors, skirtings etc) are as bad. Please help, it's a council house and the council are not very helpful. I can produce fotos if requested.
Waiting in hope
Heat rises- along with that "air-movement" is dust and dirt. Walls, ceilings, and trim have texture; that texture is capturing the particulate. That accumulation is the dark/black you're seeing. There's really no way to completely eliminate the dust/dirt accumulation except to clean often.
