Yuck. I hate hair. I loved not dealing with it when it went down the drain. Hair is one of the things I can't do. I'd rather clean toliets. But I guess having septic now I have to do a lot. Thanks!
Odor could be dry soap suds coated inside the drain pipe. The prior residents may have used too much powered soap in doing laundry. Another thing is you may have noticed your past laundry having a slight odor. This is caused from the soap clogging the wash/drain part of the washing machine. You may have white spots or smears on the dark clothes. This can be remedied by pouring 1 pint of bleach into 1/3 full of HOT water and running a complete cycle. You will see the washing machine loosen up all the caked soap (disolved) in the water and the clothes will be better next wash. Steve
