We're having our first HDTV delivered to the house tomorrow and we are excited! Here's a question I have. The tv will be arriving cold since temps will be in the low 30's tomorrow with snow and I was wondering if we should turn the tv on right away if the tv is cold? I dont know what could happen if the television was turned on while it was cold, but I've heard others say that you shouldnt do this. I'm not sure if this true and if any damage could be done to the television. How cold does it have to be to worry about this? Do we wait a couple of hours before turning it on? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

It's probably best to wait until it's room temperature. Otherwise you could get thermal shock on components that heat up. Although low 30's may still be within the low end of the operating temperature, I personally wouldn't do it.
I agree with f_m. Wait a couple of hours until it gets room temperature. Or just have the delivery guys do it so if it messes up, you can get a new one.
Thanks to everyone for their advice. Happy New Year to all!
