That house is amazingly close to how we modified our classroom as a project when I was at Pratt. You need not worry about that stark white. Unless it is repainted every couple of months, it will shift to a dirty gray.

Actually, I don't believe that would be a problem. Birds don't care for white surfaces. Your handle says PNW. If you live near the ocean, look at the covers on the boats (and the boats themselves). Dark boats and dark covers are preferred by birds. They radiate the warmth back to the bird. In general, they avoid white.
