Map: Harris County - Forbes.com

For Houston (Harris County), looks like lots of inward migration from the Northeast, Midwest, Southern California and Florida.

Outward migration was mostly to elsewhere in Texas, Colorado, and Louisiana.

(You can also clear the map, and click on any county for visualization data. Hat tip to the related post in the TX forum.)

Great map. Thanks. Check out the exodus from Florida, California and the city of Chicago. Detroit is scary. This is 2008's map - I think it has accelerated.

Lol, this looks like the same map and link I had up in the Texas forum yesterday morning- good representation of Texas population increase! Haha.
I like this map a lot!

Chicago/Los Angeles area is an out migration, but they're still a growing metro area because of immigration. The same situation for New York City. All of those cities on this out migration chart look scary beyond belief! Yikes!!

From the map, I see Chicago getting some inward migration from New England and Mid Atlantic. Los Angeles from Mid Atlantic.

Detroit is the scariest one to look at.

2008--> Lousiana.. Is that Katrina going back?

PS- Houston is the 4th largest city, yet they always show Dallas for Texas on most maps and charts. It's annoying.

Possibly...
Looking at Orleans Parish, they had a huge in-migration from Harris County in 2008, and the average income per capita was really low ($11k).

It is, but DFW is a slightly larger metro so maybe that's why.
If you think that's bad, the other day Fox News weather was on, and I saw they had Dallas and Austin on their national weather map... but no Houston. Austin, really?!? Not only is Houston the state's largest city, and the one with the most Fortune 500 companies, and other reasons... but doesn't Houston also have the most visitors of all the cities in the state? Top 10 most-visited U.S. cities
Ridiculous...

Dallas is the larger metro, and a way bigger media market. #4 vs #10.

Philadelphia is the 4th largest media market in the nation. That's what I saw somewhere else.
