It looks like condos or townhouses. I', wondering how this will affect Telfair house values and school performance in the future.

Master planned communities are most times required to include a certain amount of green space, commercial, mult-family, and mixed use along with single family housing. Which is why you see shops and apartments in Sienna Plantation, Riverstone, Cinco Ranch...etc.

This is nothing new. Take a look at the development maps for all these communties that are readily available on the developer's websites (Johnson, Newland...etc.) The are color coded for each of these uses.

Missouri City fought tooth and nail with Sienna before they relented on apartments...I was there to see the 1 hour battle at the council meeting

Telfair's apartments should've been placed out the way from homes though..

As has been mentioned, it's not unusual, and even expected, to have some apartments in masterplanned communities. They're usually only 2-3 stories tall.
I feel worse for the people in homes in the northeast corner of the neighborhood, who have that big Hilton Hotel looking down on them.

Well it's only three stories buildings, but still I'm not sure cornerstone would be able to accommodate that population.

the shyster city council members and crooks on the FBISD school board have said the kids from the apartments will not be zoned to cornerstone. But that will be a contentious issue because they are planned to be zoned to schools in First Colony.

Why not zone the apartment kids to cornerstone with their neighbors?
