My friend, who rarely ever forwards emails or links, sent this to me last night and I just now got around to reading what Corridor Rescue is all about. I thought I'd post here since it is in Houston and wondered if others knew about the "corridor".

Corridor Rescue | Saving One Life At A Time

Quote:
The corridor -- an area more than a mile wide where abused dogs are abandoned -- is located in northeast Houston near the Little York exit off U.S. 59 (Eastex Freeway).
...from Rescuing dogs from 'Corridor of Cruelty' - CNN.com

Some dogs have been found in trash bags with serious wounds - most likely from dog fighting.

It's heinous. I had no idea that there's a "dumping ground" for abused and/or unwanted dogs here (or anywhere for that matter).

Dogfighting on the northeast side? Who woulda thought? Actually, that area has been pretty notorious for dogfighting for quite awhile.

I'm not surprised by the dog fighting...just that there is a stretch of area "reserved" for dumping dogs - not just those dog fights.

Humans can be horrible. Boggles the mind that Mother Theresa and Jeffrey Dahmer were of the same species.

That's apples to oranges - those two are the same species as each other - just not the same as ours.

I rescued a pair of rottweillers from that area. I was touched by the female standing over and guarding the injured male. The male did not make it, but the female did and she was the sweetest animal ( if a bit large). It was the middle of summer and they were just dying for water. A friend of mine took the female and she has made a great companion over the last couple of years. So sad to see this happen.

I have heard of this..its horrible! I am a volunteer for the Montgomery County Animal Shelter and the way people just dump animals is so sad, not to mention abusing them..I wish I could take them all in..
