Hello,
I currently work in Clear Lake. We'd like to buy within a year. I love houses with large lot because I would love to plant tropical fruit trees and may be a tropical garden.

I found beautiful houses in Garden Villas and Glenbrook Valley that has large lot, resonably close to work and very affordable. However, I'm unfamilar with school here. I have 2 young children so school is definitely imporant? How is it compare to CCISD?

Are there similar area with large lots in Clear Lake or near by area?

Thanks,
MNCold.

Garden Villas and Glenbrook Valley are NOT zoned to good schools. If you want a big lot, you might have to get a bit rural or if you move to Garden Villas or Glenbrook Valley, then go to private schools. You might try some of the older areas of Friendswood for larger lots as well. Friendswood schools are great. A good realtor could help you stay in CCISD or Friendswood schools and guide you to older areas built on bigger lots.

Ortiz middle is pretty dreadful. The only good school in the area is Cornelius elementary. It has been exemplary for years and has won awards, etc. It is, however, predominantly economically disadvantaged but the teachers seem to be doing a great job there. For the most part people use private in Glenbrook Valley.

OK. Sounds like I won't be able to live in Glenbrook.

The schools are not what I would describe as a selling point. Magnet or private unfortunately.
