I don't know about Nelore, but Fogo gets real noisy and I think the wine is expensive. I like it well enough, but I'd rather do a nice dinner (especially with a date) somewhere more intimate and bang for my buck.

If the salad bar isn't important, then I would go with Nelore. I like the atmosphere (and the prices) a lot better. But their salad bar leaves a lot to be desired.

Fogo quality went downhill while prices are rather high. But it's the best choice in Houston.. so..

I hate to go against the local rstaurant and side with a chain......but Fogo is much better than Nelore. MUCH. It is worth the extra $10 you spend on the meal.

I have been to both places a few times. Fogo I thought it was loud and some people looked kind of trashy (sorry if I offend anyone). The food was good. The bill was paid by my father in law so can't comment on that :-)

Nelore is closer to center of Houston. The times we go it looks busy, but always find a table quickly for us. Definitely quieter than Fogo. I think the food is good, but perhaps Fogo is slightly better in terms of the food overall.
