Is there any website where I can shop groceries online and then they can deliver to my doorsteps?

Rice Epicurean does. you go to their website and order from there. There are 5 Rice Epicureans in Houston. So you can choose the closest one.

^^^Rice. Comes in handy.

Randalls used to have a "Pea Pod" service about 10 years ago. I don't know what happened to it.

Also, I have noticed all the online delivery services charges way more for the grocery than the normal store! Sometimes I just miss Pakistan where you can give money to your servant and he will go and get all the groceries... ahh good times!

Of course they charge more, it's an extra service that requires gas and extra manpower.

You can pay servants to shop for you in the US too, you know. I see plenty of maids doing the shopping in the city.

@EasilyAmused

I can pay servants in US to do the shopping but there is one big difference about US vs Pak.

In Pak you have to be medium income family to afford a servant.

In US you have to be filthy rich to afford a servant.

Anyways!

A few years ago I lived in Seattle, WA. Most grocery stores would do home delivery at no charge. In fact...I used to shop at Safeway (partner or parent company to Randalls) and the delivery charge was around $5 and the delivery person was not allowed to accept tips. Knowing that cost of living was more expensive there, I was surprised when I moved to Houston that those who provide delivery are more specialized stores. Althought you can pretty much get anything at Rice Epicurean. I don't grocery shop online much anymore.

Default Amazon

My wife orders things from Amazon, we get things delivered to our house each month, and no shipping charges. Not grocery items per say, but we get our paper towels, toilet paper, etc. It is about 1/2 the cost of the stores, and it is delivered right to our door.
