My family is going to move to Houston in two weeks. My husband has job at Gears Road in Houston. I am an accounting student. Two of our daughters are in elementary school. Would you tell me which community is good for living and has nice elementary schools? And which college for me to continue my accounting program(I am two years program)?
Thank you

It looks like Gears Road is in far north Houston. I'm not familiar with that area, so I won't say anything about communities or elementary schools. For accounting studies, you might try Houston Community College (two-year school), or University of Houston.

I'm not sure where you are coming from, but Houston could be a shock (in negative ways).

You really need to give us more info. Will you be renting or buying. What is your price range? I would not plan on living in the immediate area of Gears Rd. You might try Spring, Champions or even more towards the Humble area.

Sorry for my incompleted information. We would like to rent a apartment or a house, at lease two bedroom. Our range is around $900 to $1100. We have house in Wisconsin, it is hard for sell in the receding economy, and we don't want take advanture anymore.

I would look at Kingwood or Summerwood areas. A bit more of a drive but better for your family overall. DO NOT look at apartments in Greenspoint area around Gears Rd. I know that there are apartments real close but you would probably regret living there very quickly. Those locations would also not be a bad commute for your wife to Lone Star Community College (formerly North Harris County College) and Kingwood is not a bad commute to University of Houston straight down Hwy 59.

Okay. My girlfriend is from southern Wisconsin. It might not be as much of "a shock" as I originally mentioned.
