I did this in college for a few extra bucks.

If you don't do the repairs yourself, it can be very difficult to make more than beer money.. For cars only the margins are much smaller than you would imagine except for the instances when you find a great deal, but that won't happen every day or even week.

I love flipping cars, it was a hobby of mine. I would still do, it if I have time.
Houston is very competitive, you gotta act fast. Buying and selling.

Craigslist is a good place to start.

The game isn't what it used to be 10 - 15 years ago. It's a bit more competitive than before. Check out the local Auctions. Houston Hobby, Manheim, Adesa. A lot of people show up and bid their own vehicles up.. you need to be clever and catch this. Good Luck

Did you buy from craigslist or only use it for a point of sale?

If you are going to do real estate , I wouldn't recommend starting another business at the same time.

There are many flippers that use CL (craigslist). I know as I was one of them. Specialzing in a specific make (and perhaps model) of cars that you have a lot of knowledge about helps.

Too many flood cars & salvage titles in Houston.

Not worth the headache.

I hear the title laws here gives you 30 days to sell once title is signed over. Is this true? I also heard you can only buy and sell 2-3 cars a year before you run into tax problems. Any guidance?
