They've been pouring concrete at 4:00 in the morning and working hard on the store and now there is a rendering now on one of the signs facing the Hwy 6 service road in front of the store. Unfortunately, you can't see much driving by at 30 miles an hour in traffic.

I've dug around the internet and can't find any more information about this store except for what was published back in January when we all got so excited and started arguing about apples. If anyone else has more info about the store now or perhaps has found a link to this drawing, please post. I can't wait for this store to open.

I don't know much more than you but I drove by and the new store is huge. I'm very happy that Randall's will have some better competition.

That's great news for this particular area. I'm betting this one will be like Buffalo Speedway HEB, that is a hybrid HEB/Central Market due to the demographics of the area. Man that area of Sugar Land has drastically changed over the last ten years with all that development and upcoming development.

I visited the new store this morning on Grand Opening Day. Very nice store. Huge selection and lots of organic choices. It was PACKED with people. The parking lot was full. I think there is a lot of pent up demand for a good grocery store in this neighborhood.

My wife went to the preview party last night. Very similar to the one that opened in Cypress about 5 years ago when we lived up there.

The store is going to do very well and drive business away from Randalls, Wal Mart and probably Whole Foods as well. They were packed at the preview party last night.

Pent up demand does not explain the jammed packed parking lot today. Were they giving away free steaks, doing topless dances, or are people just weird about being at the new grocery store on the day it opens? I went across the street to Walmart and found it was just as busy as ever.

I am just weird, but free steak would have been awesome.
