I've been wanting to know how much rain we've got so far this year.
I found this picture in JustWeather.com that is supposed to be the accumulated rain over the last 30 days (pretty much, January 2012)

I feel like Spring has begun and we are in for a long growing season. It's so tempting to put veggies in the ground and have fun before the season is over in June when it hits 105 again.......

I'm more than a little worried it will hit 105 before June...

that may be January but, in a few months that map will read zeros and the news will be forecasting temperatures in the hundreds. Summer is coming whether we like it or not.

New map:

Looks like the rain is concentrated north of Houston where three large lakes are. How are the levels doing in these? I know that in November they were all over 85% full. These rains should boost that

Why? You're acting like last Summer is the norm for not only Houston, but Texas in general. The temperatures and lack of rain was not normal anywhere in the state. Who is to say that it won't return to normal for 2012?
