Howdy everyone! I've been in Houston from overseas for more than a year now and last year we went to see the famous blue bonnets around Brenham but because of the drought, there isn't much to see. However, yesterday I drove from College Station to Houston, and along 290, the flowers are in full bloom, very beautiful. So is the triangular area between highway 6, 290 and 105 a good area to view the flowers? Or is there any other places? I plan to take my family to have a look, thank you all!

I thought Brenham was the best area near Houston. Also take the highway north of Brenham, and try the highway south of Brenham from Bellville, etc. Drive out to Washington, Tx. I would say spend an evening at a B&B in Brenham and ask the locals where the best areas are. That's kinda what we did a few years ago.

Several weeks ago, I was picking-up some family at IAH and noticed bluebonnets around the entrance to the airport. It just served as a another reminder why it's good to be in Texas.
I've haven't been on a "bluebonnet drive" in awhile but the drive from Houston to Austin during the season would take you through and close to a number of wildflower areas.
Speaking of wildflowers reminded me of Lady Bird Johnson. Anybody been to the Wildflower Center in Austin?

For those who want to stay in the city: Terry Hershey Park has several hills full of them. Most of them seem to be on the hills near the creek bridges.

I just did this drive and it was beautiful. There were TONS of bluebonnets as well as other wildflowers.
