I'm possibly buying a condo down there and if someone knows a bit about the area and would pass along some basic info, ie, crime, noise, location, etc, I'd greatly appreciate it. Here is the address. Thanks!

That area, bordered by Bissonnet, the West Belt, and 59, is one of the higher crime areas of Houston. Prostitution, drug activity, you name it. All the worst things you read about regarding Katrina evacuees being put into "rough" neighborhoods, well that is dead center of all of that. It is horrible at best.

Word of advice. Don't do it. Terrible.
Go to the suburbs north of Houston. Montgomery County, etc.

I agree, that's a bad area. I would never buy there.

If you want to be near the southwest side, try the Galleria area instead. Or Sugar Land for suburbs.

If you are looking at low-priced condos, then try something like the ones on Wild Indigo & Newcastle. That is a good area. There are some affordable ones in other parts of the Galleria as well. There are some near Braeswood & Kirby that are okay too.

When buying condos, be aware that lenders will shy away from projects that do not have a high owner-occupancy rate and/or if more than 10% of the units are owned by one investor. You will want to check out the owner occupancy rate when looking b/c that will affect your financing and how much you have to put down, or even if the lender will loan at all.

There are some older condos in zip 77024. Good school district.

If you need to be near the area you described, research around briar forest/westheimer & beltway 8.
