My husband just got a job in Houston. We are planning on moving to Katy. We found a nice subdivision called Morton Ranch and want to build a home there. Can anyone tell me anything about the Morton Ranch area. Would you recommend building there? Thanks!

I wouldn't jump right away, since that area is not yet fully developed. There's a high probability that many of the properties could be purchased by investors who in turn rent the homes out, which could effect your value.

What's your budget? do you have children? Are you interested in purchasing an existing home?

I would like to stay around 200k. I want a 4 bedroom. I wouldn't mind something already built but on the newer side. I do have children. I have 4 boys ages 4, 3 yr old twins and a 2 year old! LOL I want to find a nice area with a decent sized yard and I want them to go to good schools, from what I hear tho all Katy schools are really good.

Why don't you look at the "Grand Harbor" by Centex, That's the same bulider who's doing the morton ranch development.

BTW: It's south of the I-10 and it feeds Katy HS.
