For her birthday coming up later this month. She is a foodie, and so I was thinking that if there was a special bakery, or candy, or sauce, ( not chocolate) or something else that you can only get here, that is Delish, she might really enjoy it. I am still new here, and so don't know the area enough to know what the locals consider to be the best stuff in the area.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Also, not that it matters if I can call in an order and have it shipped, but we are in the Woodlands area.

Thanks in advance for any replies .

Tamales from Bering Hardware. Also the Jalepeno Ketchup (yes, spelled that way) and Pepper Jelly. It's not your regular hardware store.

You got some great suggestions from cherryjohns and EasilyAmused. You can get her a King Cake (associated with Mardi Gras). It is delicious! Every supermarket has them this time of year. You can throw in some Mardi Gras beads and a mask for fun in your care package to her. You can also send her some Texas Bar-b-que sauce and some Texas Wine.

Thank you for all the suggestions! Cherry, I looked at Bering's web site, and could not find the tamales.any idea how to locate those?

Also, slnt, I am intrigued by your suggestion about a King cake. Where would I get the tastiest one?

I don't think they always have the tamales. There are 3 locations (I think) - call and see if they have them now.

Pecan brittle from Kegg's Candies. It's so delicious. Lucky for me they charge enough for it I can't eat my weight in it. There's one in Meyerland and another on Westpark near 59.
