Buy a bread machine. Very easy, fresh and hot. Before I gave up starches, I used mine a couple times a week. I still pull it out when we have house guests. Nothing like the smell of bread baking in the morning. I still sneak a piece off the heel...

I work out right by that place. Pure torture to walk in the gym and walk out smelling the fresh bread.

Phoenicia & Fiesta on Westheimer & Dairy Ashford has them too. They bake it infront of you and it runs out quick in the evening.

After looking for a while, we settled on La Madeleine (many locations) and HEB Central Market on Westheimer to buy high-quality freshly baked breads. La Madeleine has half a dozen options, but they are all good. The selection at Central Market is much broader.

Whole Foods also has a good bakery.
