Hi everyone!!

Will be moving to Houston in the next week and a half and I will be in the zip code 77016.

I noticed that in Houston there are a lot of Electric companies to choose from.
Anyone in the 77016 area code that could guide me as to which one to choose.

Looking for;

Electricity
Gas
Water
Internet provider
Cable provider

THANK YOU in advance!

Well it's the only place that I could find that would allow me to rent with all my pets.
I have been doing some research and the area doesn't seem bad... well from what I can see.

No clue, depends on what elec rate plan you get, how many showers/baths you take, etc.

Could be cheap or expensive and running the AC in Houston can get up there if you like it cold in the house.

Ahh, Well it will probably be less then San Diego, CA lol

Since I will be working for the majority part of the day, I plan on only using a fan or just the AC at about 70ish in the evenings. My dogs will just have to ride out the humidity and heat I will make sure I put them in a shaded area with lots of water!

How bad are the mosquito's in Houston? What could put in the house to avoid them? or perhaps make them less..?

If you turn off your A/C during the day, don't expect your house to be in 70's in the evenings... Not in full summer.
Mosquito are bad. If you are close to water they can be VERY bad.
BTW: you should not leave you dogs all day outside when is ~100F - shade or not.
Your utility cost depends on the size of your house and its location. (facing east/south/west and foliage around it)
Also the insulation, the A/C age, windows rate, your habits, the age of your appliances etc.

Default 77016 is one of the worst areas of Houston

I am not sure how you came to the conclusion that crime is low in that area.
