I've contacted every agency I can think of, and a couple of vets too in the past six weeks, and cannot get anyone to call me back.

The colony is really small at this moment, but if they aren't neutered very soon the population will explode, and that's no good for anyone, least of all the cats.

The colony is located less than a block outside the 610, just off of south main street.
Please post contact information if there is a rescue or agency who has live traps I can borrow and who can get the vetting done. As much as I'd like to be able to pay for it all, that's not possible unless its very inexpensive.
Thanks for your help.

We have neighbors that feed the strays and neighborhood cats around out rent home. Called up SPCA for a free trap. I trapped over 15 neighborhood cats this year and dumped them all off at the spca. some had collars but no tags. They would always crap all over my porch and the smell of cat urine and feces made us nauseated constantly. We first sent letters to the neighbors to tell them to stop feeding the strays and to keep their cats indoors but it had no effect...

Houston Pet Adoptions CAP Citizens for Animal Protection

I feed ferals down here by the courthouse and contacted them via email. Someone replied and said they would post my application for help. A volunteer took my app and contact me. She went on vacation, i'm waiting for her to return so we can get busy trapping and neutering/spaying these cats.

Come to think of it, I need to reach out to her, she was supposed to be back last week and I didnt' get any follow up call. Good luck

BARC can do everything. You can even become a Colony manager.

BARC :: Feral Cat TNR Program :: Feral Cat TNR

BARC :: Houston Wild Animal Info :: Wild Animals in Houston

Also, see if your district is part of Healthy Pets, Healthy Streets program.

BARC :: New Project :: Spay & Neuter

Thank you.
How do I get a return call from barc? I've left message after message there over the past 6 weeks.. Would driving over there mean I can find someone or are the offices located away from the barc site?

Yes, just show up during their business hours and someone at the counter can get you traps. The surgery times are listed on the website. I may be able to dig up the email addresses of people I spoken to before

Please place the traps in an all day shaded place in case you trap one in the middle of the high sun and you are not there.

They dehydrate just as easily as humans do. Being dehydrated before surgery is not a good thing.

Not to worry, I wont even set the traps until dawn and they will have food and water and a towel, and they will be in the shade too.
And I intend to get them to BARC in time for them to open.
