I am sorry about the lack of detail in original post. I'll try to not to do that now.

I am travelling towards SOUTH coming in from North. You can see this ramp ONLY when are you heading SOUTH on 99 frontage road. Morton, Franz, Colonial Pkwy. The ramp in question comes once you have crossed FRANZ/99 Frontage road South intersection. You can see it here on Google Maps https://www.google.com/maps/@29.7963612,-95.7759891,18z. In this map, you can see the ramp. Follow the direction (going SOUTH) and you'll that it splits into two, IH-10 East and IH-10 West exists and it does NOT run further south of IH-10.

I tried using GPS and see if this ramp is reported as a toll road. I used TOMTOM GPS that I updated like 2 days ago and also used Google Maps navigation on my cellphone. I also turned off the "USE TOLL ROAD" options. Both the systems direct you to use the ramp.

I ordered an EZ Tag. I am not sure how long it takes for the thing to get here (anybody got any ideas? it was mailed to my address Wednesday 03 sep) but as soon as I get it, I think I am gonna go and take that ramp again and see if I get charged. Right now, I have stopped using it.

Is there any way you could report your mistake and see if they will waive the violation fee? If you have been on this road, and have seen this ramp. I guess you'd know that it can get really confusing.

You have already been charged on that segment of 99 since you are traveling south, there is no extra charge to use the connectors.

I guess you didn't read my original post. I am talking about when you take the ramp from the frontage road and not while you are already on 99.

Takes 3-5 days for an EZTag to arrive.

If you registered your EZTag with the same license number/car that you've been using to use the ramp, they will see that the license matches and charge them to your account. At least that's what they did with me. You can always call them, and they will make sure it gets matched up.

If you are coming from 99 south right past Colonial Parkway and take the ramp that goes from the 99 access road to I10 East or I10 West, then I can promise you that it is tolled. I have seen the sign.

I have not traveled from the north headed south... is there is a ramp from the frontage road that puts you on the connector? Or is there is a ramp that puts you on 99, which is tolled, then puts you on the connector to I10?

I've been saying this since day one.... one of the main reason for Houston traffic is the s...y highway design, including entrance and exit ramps.
