I live on S Mason Rd in Richmond. On Beechnut behind Grand Mission Estates next to David Crockett Middle school, they are clearing off land. I'm curious as to what's going there. Anyone know this area or heard anything?

Oh good question! I'm building in Fieldstone off of the other section of Mason. I wish they were connecting the 2 sections now, but I wonder if it's another section of Grand Mission. Don't know how far north Fieldstone will go.

We're actually hoping they connect them. We visited Fieldstone to look at model homes and saw that's another part of Mason. I can see the top of the Palladium from Beechnut. It would make sense for them to be connected.

If and when Mason is connected, and Fieldstone expands to the north, I will be very concerned as it might get zoned to Bush High.

Does anyone have any plan documents or articles indicating Mason's extension south of Beechnut? The land clearance seems to indicate Beechnut shifting to the south side of the canal adjacent to the existing roadway.

These plans are from a couple years ago. Beechnut is supposed to get re-asphalted with shoulders. I imagine that wont happen until all of the new home construction is close to done around Grand Mission. Mason will connect with Fieldstone. See map in link

I've thought about that too, but I have talked to a few people from FBISD and Bush is way oversaturated to take on Fieldstone and Waterview. Plus, Travis is much closer. Not sure about Crockett Middle school, though, since it's so close to Fieldstone. I'm guessing if it's not zoned there now, it won't be later, but who knows?

Looking at FBISD boundary maps, it seems the undeveloped area is split down the middle. The northern half is zoned to Crockett/Bush and the southern half to Bowie/Travis.

So, are you implying that it has a strong chance of getting zoned to Bush or stay in Travis? Or you just stated a fact with no implications?
