The Stella Link area has some environmental issues that keep values depressed. I don't recall the nature of them, but I'm sure someone active in these forums knows. It's also not all that appealing and has some really really trashy apartments in the area that don't seem to be going anywhere despite all the new builds in the area the last 7-8 years or so. I wouldn't buy there.

I'm not sure about the environmental issues, but I drove through there Sunday afternoon while I was in town. Definitely not a very appealing area. Thanks for the input.

The area I was looking at would be around here
2919 Clinton Dr, Houston TX 77020 - HAR.com

When I drove through there, nothing seemed too off-putting. My biggest question would be how flood prone that area is, being near the bayou. I will have to search for some flood maps.

I'm sure inside the loop is better, but for under 300k, galleria-tanglewood area can work. Whole foods has doubled down this zone, traders joe's, etc and lots of restaurant etc energy.Mainly great access to downtown and other best parts of Houston. Pretty central, yet not always hemmed in by traffic if you move wisely.

Stella link inside or outside the loop? Inside the loop is well out of your price range and is very appealing. The other side of Stella link gets rougher as you move along. I imagine you were outside 610

I know a lot is changing in that area... but the corner of Clinton and Jensen? eeek
Would you feel comfortable going for an evening stroll? I was looking at some near Dynamo and I'm not sure I would go for a run after work and feel safe. Plus the number of stray dogs in the Clinton Jensen area would keep me from running there. I would like to know from those that live there if they run/walk in the evenings on that side not crossing over to Discovery Green area.
