Texas metros have always impressed me with their smart layed out freeway systems and master community spraw-landia. I'v never traveled to Mexico City nor Tokyo (yet) but i always hear they are the world's sprawlest. My question is, does Houston cover the same amount of land as those as i mentioned?

Houston has slightly more sprawl when measured by land, but Houston doesn't come close to maintaining the same density as those other two cities as they sprawl out. Houston has a lot less people than either Tokyo or Mexico City.

Of course, i'm aware of the density differences. That's why i was trying to be careful in my wording about strictly keeping this thread on area covered.

Houston and Tokyo may have similar sprawl areas but Tokyo is a waaaaay denser. Watch the movie "Blade Runner" to get a feel for urban Tokyo and its difference from Houston. Also, it is very mass transit (mainly trains) oriented to move people to their inner core jobs from suburbs 30-40-50 miles away - so unlike Houston with it's tiny little slow train system mostly in the inner loop. Also, compare the mini-mansions everywhere in Houston to tiny little closet apartments in inner Tokyo and the miniature flimsy houses in the Tokyo suburbs.

Definitely not Mexico City. Mexico City isn't relatively dense like Tokyo or NYC or any other dense cities like that so keep that in mind
