I thought people in the Midwest were very nice and laid back. Then again, I lived in Ohio.

Just like the south, Louisiana and Gulf coast. Yeah. Maybe if I repeat it enough times on city vs city and Houston forums, it will become true?
Yup, more like northern Tamps than Southern US.

You hit the nail on the head. The woodlands is transplant city (east coast, Midwest, etc) so you won't get the southern charm as you would other parts of houston. They come down to texas and have the rushed urban mind set with them.

Add Southern and soul food to that too.

Isn't the Woodlands the heart of Stepfordism in Houston? Very keeping up with the Joneses? If there are a lot of transplants there then for sure its most likely a "rushed" part of town. Why do they have to bring all that here?

I don't live in The Woodlands, but not all of us transplants (MD-PA-NJ-OH-TX) are like that! Then again, I have been here for almost 12 years, so....

In thart area, yes, but I never shopped there. Too "high end" for me..I used to shop in Elgin/Dundee at Spring Hill mall, or the outlet malls nearby.

In the smaller outlying cities, yes. We lived in Belvidere and the people there were very nice, happy to have your business. In the larger cities like Rockford, and moving closer to Chicago in the suburbs like Schaumburg or Barrington, it is the same rushed "what do you want" vibe when shopping, and the lack of courtesy from people in the neighborhoods..

Definitely! And the driving?? Oh my goodness! I have lived in 5 states during my life and it seems like every state sent its scary drivers down here!! One takes their life in their hands on 45 near where I live. SO much road rage and making it a raceway. No mattter how fast you go, someone is on your bumper..
