I am visiting Houston to find a used Jeep Rubicon this weekend and wanted to know if anyone recommends a particular dealership. After looking online, the Jeep inventory in Houston is spread across multiple websites making my search difficult for an out-of-towner.

Have you seen any dealerships with a large selection of used Jeeps in your area of Houston?

Thanks!

People I've talked to seem very happy with River Oaks Jeep.

Carmax tends to have decent quality vehicles but higher than market asking prices, and you can't negotiate. However, you can also add an extended warranty on any vehicle you buy through them and have peace of mind that, despite being a FCA product, it will be taken care of by Carmax.

Otherwise, I would just use Cars.com and put your search criteria within 50 miles of wherever in the Houston area you will be staying.

I also found 2 Jeeps at a dealership I've done a lot of business with over the last 3 years. I will PM you the salesman I worked with.

ETA: I have purchased 3 Jeep Wranglers since 2015.

I was happy with mine (bought 5 years ago) and we bought it from River Oaks Jeep. Mainly bc I lived in the area at the time. I recently had a co-worker buy his in Navasota recently. He was able to negotiate a lot better with them.

Bought my '13 JKU Rubicon 10th Anniversary and our '17 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk from River Oaks Jeep. I worked with several other Jeep dealers in Houston and NONE of them were as easy to work with as River Oaks in both pricing and the sales process. Talk to Mark Gusman over there. You might be able to get a new one for less than you can find a used one. The market for used Wranglers is absolute insanity.

If you can wait, prices will likely drop some once the redesigned 2018s are out

lol, why? I love peanut gallery comments from people who have probably never driven a Jeep much less owned one. My Wrangler had fewer visits to the dealer (zero) for warranty work in 40 months than any of the German Luxo brand vehicles I've owned or my wife's Japanese brand vehicles (which is why we sold it and bought a JGC).

Thanks to all for the recommendations.

After driving around all day Saturday, I found a 2015 Rubicon with a 3" lift, 10K+ winch and 35" tires at:
Texas Auto
16200 TX-3
Webster, TX 77598

NOTE: The quality of the aftermarket work done to the Jeep sold me, not the price or trade. Someone in the Houston area did a great job putting this 2015 Rubicon together and it will be driven safely across our Louisiana conservation forest-lands.
