We have searched all over the sugarland area and can't quiet decide on this area. Is Cinco Ranch or Grand Lakes nice and do they have trees.

Also what would be the commute time from either to Sugarland?

Thanks for your help

I would check out Long Meadow farms(Richmond) along with Grand Lakes and Cinco Ranch. Yes, they are all very nice.

Here's the links to them

Welcome to Cinco Ranch. Find a new home in this Houston community.

Welcome to Grand Lakes

Make sure you tell your realtor to take you to the phase 3 and 4 sections of the Long Meadow Farms community, you'll see your trees

Default commute time...

I currently live in Cinco Ranch (close to FM1093) and work in Sugar Land. In the morning, it's about 30 minutes to get to work. In the afternoon, it can be a bit longer because of all the traffice also trying to get onto 90 west.

It depends on what sections of these neighborhoods you buy into. In Houston the trees are cleared before new homes are put up. Every house gets the standard 2 trees. The younger the neighborhood - the smaller the trees.

Also - Cinco Ranch is HUGE. There were over 11,000 inhabitants in the 2000 Census. It's a very nice area, with a plethora of shopping and neighborhoods. I'm not sure about the commute to Sugar Land. You'd be taking 99 from Cinco Ranch/Grand Lakes all the way to Sugar Land. Even though it's one of the roads with the least amount of traffic, I'm guessing it's pretty crowded in the morning due to people trying to get onto the Westpark Tollway. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

By the way - have you checked out Greatwood in Sugar Land? It's at the corner of 59 and 99 (Grand Parkway aka Crabb River Road). That neighborhood has made an effort to conserve trees. I seem to remember from another post you are commuting to HWY 6 and 59. This would give you a short commute in the morning.

Just so you know - we are relocating from Sugar Land to Charlotte this summer. It really is hard to get a sense of where all this stuff is just by doing online searches, so I know how you feel!

Hard, but it would be more difficult without this Forum. I did so much online research, I had a picture in my head that is turning out to be very accurate. I'm having fun exploring stuff that I had read about from thousands of miles away...
