We have purchased property in Bender's Landing and now hearing rumors of a possible toxic dump being developed nearby? Anyone aware of this development? YmindyY

Considering that Bender's Landing sits near so many creeks & rivers, development of a toxic dump sounds like a really, really bad idea. Is Montgomery County proposing a landfill near Benders?

Shadow Creek Ranch in Pearland sits next to a dump, but the dump was there before that community was built.

That would be terrible, b/c Benders Landing / Spring Trails are such nice communities.

I would round up residents and raise some hell before that thing gains anymore traction.

Is this the reason developers have shy'd away from building much East of I-45N? I always assumed it was because it was lowland floodzone.

I would double check my sources....and if true... rally the troops! As, your values would drop considerably.

BL has not performed as originally expected... many unhappy builders out there now just trying to hold on. Could see some good deals here shortly.

As discussed in the previous thread it's about 5 miles north of the BL entrance off Riley-Fuzzel so not really a mystery.

YmindyY,
There was an article a while back from Texas Observer called SuperFun with Superfund. You may want to read it and email the reporter to get an answer. Most reporters I have emailed are very repsonsive and in fact may end up doing a story on your inquirie. If no repsonse there I would try other reporters.
