I'm looking for a place with paved trails to go walking in the area of I-10 and Fry. My friend and I are currently walking at South Lake in Cinco but that's a bit of a drive for her so I'd like to find something closer to where she lives. I've googled everything I can think of and can't find what I'm looking for. We just want a nice place to walk that's quiet, it could be around a neighborhood or a park, anywhere really. A 2 or 3 mile trail would be ideal. All suggestions welcome.

Default A little south of I-10 and Fry is Highland Knolls and Fry.

Highland Knolls and Fry which is about 2miles south of I-10 is where the Walking trails for George Bush park start. You can walk all the way down to the Bayou through the woods. It is truly beautiful.

Have you tried Cullen park? I see many people running/biking/walking across Barker Cypress between trails. From what i understand it stretches to hwy 6, of course you dont have to go that far. Also from what i understand there is another park to park at for the same trail off of groeschke rd. Sorry i dont have more information i just moved to the area and havent had a chance to scout it out myself, also not sure about safety on the trails or of your belongings while on the trail.

Ditto on Cullen Park. There are parts of the trail where you will start to believe you are not in a bustling city anymore. It has a little bit of traffic on the weekends but there are days during the week that you will not see anyone. There is an entrance to the park near Greenhouse and Saums with giant soccer fields across from it. Drive in and park. You will land on one of the trails if you head south from the parking lot. This trail will take you all the way around the park and all the way to Hwy 6 and back like the above poster mentioned. You will have to cross Barker Cypress but there is pedestrian walk way with a light. It is a really nice trail! Have fun!

There is a walking trail along Baker Rd (and Kingsland) in Green Trails. I have no idea where you park, but I see people walking along there all the time.
