We just got our G/T Matrix letter back, and my son got a 98 score. My husband and I are really delighted. Unfortunately we are wait listed at our first choice (River Oaks) but got into our second choice (Herod). Does anyone have an opinion on Herod's Vanguard program? I know the school as a whole isnt Exemplary, but Im curious if the Vanguard program compares to River Oaks. I know they are building a new school next year which will be nice. The other option he got into is Horn Elementary. They are not a Vanguard school but from what I understand students who are designated G/T are separated into their own class. Any experiences with Horn?

The other somewhat embarrassing question I have (I really dont know how this test works other than I took him to take it) is how good is a 98? I have no idea what kids score on this test, I just know he got in.

Thanks in advance.

Herod Vanguard is a great program, dont go by the school rating, we were at Herod Vanguard from k-5, now my son goes to TH rogers and we love that for middle school vanguard. I would say go for Herod, great teachers for Vanguard, and just a sweet sweet school!
