I just moved here from NY/NJ and am spending my first Xmas away from home. I would love to go to some neighborhoods where the homeowners go all out in decorating their homes. Can anyone suggest where I can go for this? I live in the Galleria area so don't wanna travel too far out but would love an area where I would be delighted by the festivities.

Prestonwood Forest - all residents are required to participate, awesome display of lights! Take 249 up towards Tomball. The neighborhood is off of 249 just north of the FM1960 exit. Exit 1960, stay on the feeder north of 1960 and look for Prestonwood Forest Drive (you will make a right turn), I think there is a La Quinta or Dairy Queen near or at this street. It is not a major intersection.

Also, Santa's Wonderland in College Station.

Pecan Grove Plantation in Richmond and Pin Oak Village in Katy. Check this out! Christmas Katy it's not the only impressive home in the neighborhood either!

You could always just drive around River Oaks, I've always enjoyed their decorations. From the Galleria, head east on Westheimer (inside 610) to River Oaks Blvd; turn left.
