I was at the groundbreaking, no specific time table was mentioned on the overpass, but Bentley said it was moving VERY quick.

Breland pulled it off it seems!

We all know how quickly ALDONT moves. But there seems to be a lot of muscle behind this project.

I wonder if this will still be moving "very quick" after November 4.

Yes, there is some expedited process and that is that Louis Breland (the owner of the property) has said that he will spend $22 million of his own money to build the interchange at I-565. So, this is not dependent on ALDOT. The extension of Kellner Rd. to Zeirdt Rd. is a project which Madison County is behind and the construction of it should begin soon.

You can't compare the road construction of this project to any public funded project which can be delayed for years since Breland is paying for the construction and the article says that the stores should be open by the end of 2015. The article also says that construction of the roads should begin immediately.

That explains it! Thanks for the clarification.

It really depends on what stores they decide to open...I doubt any store would open there who already has a location at Bridgestreet.

To my understanding from a town hall meeting in Edgwater back some months ago with the mayors of Huntsville and Madison, the Kellner, Zeirdt and Martin road projects were not scheduled to begin until January, so at least at this point, they are not behind on those yet.

The interchange, which looks independent of the others, looks like they are serious about starting immediately though. I've seen a build up of construction vehicles this past week being staged and readied as if they are ready to start doing something near 565 and Zeirdt. One or more of these projects are about to kick off and the sooner the start, the sooner they get it done. We are prepared, though I'm sure we'll still moan and groan about it, for the pains that come with construction and expansion down this way.
