I saw on the news that Limestone police closed down another prostitution site (3 employees face prostitution charges after spa raid - WAFF-TV: News, Weather and Sports for Huntsville, AL)

When will Madison police close down Royal Spa? It seems pretty obvious when you google it what it's purpose is:

Royal Spa

Royal Spa & Massage massage parlors in Madison, Alabama

I have had this exact same thought, how it has stayed open so long.

Those "spas" are everywhere. If they close one down, they just move to a new location. Our police departments have limited resources and there are many other problems of higher priority. Would you rather them ignore the endless number of meth labs that they can't keep up with now, so they can waste time shutting down a prostitution spa? Even if they arrest the prostitutes, they are out within a few hours and right back to "working."

It is all about priorities.

I'm not overly fond of prostitution, however, I really don't care if it's around and available - it IS the oldest profession & these women are doing it of free will & I'd rather that than forced child prostitution or an upswing in sexual assaults! There is an unfortunate "need" for these places (& women)...it doesn't affect my life, nor does overly bother me that they exist. I'd rather see these places operating than hookers walking the streets...Germany is doing it right, it's legal, it's controlled (to a certain extent) - weekly health checks & they even pay taxes. I used to live a block away from one of Germany's most infamous brothels, the Annabella Haus (close to Ramstein AB)...40 Mark Strasse as well - 100's of young GI's "utilized the facilities" & once they closed it down, the number of street walkers increased, including the numbers of pimps. Paying for it is better than rape, and if they are operating with 'a massage license', at least they are paying taxes, unlike the meth labs & dealers!

As another woman commenting I will say that is actually a positive way to look at it but we also shouldn't ignore everything that doesn't affect only our lives. If I see someone that is in danger and needs my help I would not just ignore them because "it doesn't affect my life".

In a perfect world I would prefer that there was no such thing as rape, child abuse, drugs, prostitution, etc. but unfortunately we don't live in a world like that.

I guess they'll have to do another "sting" before it's closed down. Maybe they're already working on it?

I agree 100%, but, referring to the Message parlors with 'extras' in this case.

Local police stings are completely ineffective on these types of places. Prostitution is a misdemeanor. The arrested prostitutes just bail out and go right back to the location and go back to "work."

The way these places are ultimately shut down is at the federal level. They usually build evidence, wait for a few years, get the IRS involved and audit the owners and then charge them with tax evasion and money laundering.

An example would be the "Spa" that was in Lacey's Spring for years that was finally taken out in this manner a few years ago.
