I went to Madison Square yesterday and was dissapointed. There was no one there, and alot of businesses were closed down. What's going on? Huntsville's largest mall isn't doing too great. It's starting to remind me of Tuscaloosa's McFarland Mall.

I think that the mall should get another owner so that he/she can bring new stores and renovations to the mall.

I personaly do not care for Bridge Street and like the Mall better. It looked like it might be getting better through the winter, but sounds like more stores are pulling out.

I grew up in Harvey Illinois and Dixie Square Mall was one of the first indoor Mall's in the country. It is sitting there in ruins since the 70's. They reopened to film the car chase in the movie Blues Brothers. Now trees are growing through the roof.

No way in hell its as bad as McFarland Mall in Tuscaloosa that place is beyond pathetic but it has gone down quite a bit since BridgeStreet opened. I doubt BridgeStreet is even doing that well either in this economy though.

I think online shopping has replaced malls for a lot of people. Personally, it's much easier for me to shop online than to take two small kids to the mall. And, with teenagers required to be chaperoned at the mall isn't as much of a place to "be seen" anymore, IMO, so the food courts and teen shops probably lost a lot of business through that.
