5:15-9:15pm loop. Central Georgia reporting trees and powerlines down. Winds aren't gusting more than 65mph there I believe. Watch that quick red box near Atlanta. Tornado Warning.
Seeing reports of Structural damage in SouthWest Georgia.
Green Boxes are Flash Flood Warnings.
North Carolina getting some scattered rain bands from the Atlantic but not directly from Michael yet. Just part of the whole flow.
I was talking a super Cat 5+ with gust to 230mph. If it had been more to the east in warmer water and had more time it would have been much worse. I sure wanted some 70mph winds and 10" of rain but it was a good 100 miles too far to the west to do me any good. I want blow by's that are west of me in the gulf and give me 70mph winds and no more. I can't be without power or A/C so i don't want anything over a CAT1. No way i could be without A/C for weeks and if i lost the house i would just kill myself.
So, you wish Michael was an even more serious and destructive storm so that many more people would die, lose everything that they own, go without power for weeks and weeks, etc....just so that you could experience a storm? But none of that devastation for you, of course..."Max 70 miles per hour, please."
And heaven forbid you go without power and air conditioning yourself?
You have to be kidding me. You seriously have to be kidding me.
10Oct18 11pEDT - Winds 75mph, moving NE 20mph, pressure 970mb. Barely a Cat1 hurricane now, Tropical Storm shortly. Tree and power issues will continue in its path through the night and into Friday morning until it exits off the coast...you only need winds around 40mph or higher to start bringing down trees and power lines in the SE US in tropical systems. Wear and tear over time does a lot. Storm may start to restrengthen as it nears the coast again.
Tornado risk will begin to move up across most of SC next, watch coming soon (watch = conditions favorable for, Warning = occuring/seek immediate shelter):
And yes there was apparently a large void of data tonight, instruments and power/communication failures in path of storm into this evening...not everyday you get a stronger hurricane into S GA!: https://twitter.com/weatherflowchas/...15011363246080
11Oct18 5aEDT - Estimated winds 50mph, moving NE 21mph, pressure 983mb. Winds of around 40mph and higher will continue to cause widespread scattered tree and power issues for parts of GA into portions of the Carolina's.
They wrote a freaking book for the near term discussion, but this was at the end:
Well they expanded their Tropical Storm Warnings across Upstate SC this AM with many schools announcing closures this AM.
