I think its time to create this thread, Alex is on the move and everyone on this blog needs to be prepared. Its still unknown where exactly he will go but Texans should especially be wary of this storm. To start out the conversation AnthonySA created an interesting post you should all read here. In another twist the latest steering patterns are starting to look bad for the US.

Notice the west, north of the four corners, that's a very small ridge...look to the east of ALEX...Strong ridge...look to the north and there is a gap for Alex to fit through! Yikes

Judge says that some of the levees near Brownsville might not be able to sustain Alex if he goes up the river. Watch the video here

models beginning to reach a real consensus that alex will strike the mexican coast, likely due to the new data gathered today over the gulf. HWRF remains the main north outlier. even with a strike in mexico, brownsville and SPI will be on the stronger (north) side of the storm.

Thankfully the steering map (as you can see from my original post) has changed, Mexico looking likely now.

If as predcited 90MPH winds and limited surge then it not going to be that bad if not on the immediate coast. I woke to that in the miidle of the night with humberto and its was like many stroms really i have been in.We were in the bad side of the eye wall too.

Here in Victoria TX, we have had 2 inches of rain in the past hour, from a storm cell probably associated with Alex. The eye is now about 600 miles from here. We're under tornado watch until 8 pm. No wind to speak of, rain falling straight down, only a little bit of thunder.

Here in McAllen, TX we got 7 inches of rain from Alex for the two days combined. We got 6.66 inches alone for Wednesday. It's just soooo humid right now, but we have a tornado watch until 8pm Central Time as well. Expecting more rain through today and Friday, but haven't seen much today.
