Can any car buffs give me an opinion/details on the 2013 Genesis Coupe? I'm looking to lease or purchase one with the intention of keeping it long enough to eventually start modding it. Thanks.

I've got a 2011 2.0T RSPEC that's currently out running the 2013 350hp V6

The 2013's are a slightly better car in many respects and the factory output is significantly improved. In terms of styling, this will be up to you as I'm not a big fan of what they've done with the 2013 front end but many owners are happy with it. The factory turbo and manifold which was separate on pre 2013 models is a single unit in the 2013's which means that if you're upgrading the turbo down the line look forward to buying an exhaust manifold. The good news is that the stock turbo on 2013 2.0T's is good for about 330whp (or a bit over 380 crank horsepower). The first tuning solutions from SFR are just now getting out for the 2013's and the results look promising as they gained 30whp from just adjusting fuel maps and leaving boost at stock levels.

Check out Gencoupe.com as they have a dedicated 2013+ section. Please use the search function because you will get flamed for asking questions that have been answered multiple times.

Beautiful car, inside and out. I wish my 2012 Sonata 2.0T had the aftermarket goodies available. I just want a handheld tuner that gets me over 300HP and unleashes the beast.

I don't know if I posted the link here but there is a guy on our Gencoupe forums with a 330whp Sonata. It's a rough tune because they can't control fuel yet so they are compensating with meth but once they get the injectors to cooperate it's going to be a beast.

Probably Yoshi? Yeah, I've seen him post on the Sonata forums. He definitely has some $$$ into that thing. I'm leasing, so I want to keep it stock for the most part. A tune to take off the torque management would do wonders. Pretty sure Hyundai tuned the car not to break stuff on a hard launch. This thing would be doing 0-60 in under 6 seconds if it wasn't tuned to keep everything intact during the warranty period

If I didn't have two kids under 2 years old and deal with over 80 inches of snow, I'd be rocking a Genesis Coupe. Such a beautiful car for under $30k.

I used to live in the Springs. I hear ya about th snow. Thanks for the input guys. I've been reading Gencoupe but haven't joined yet. I'll definitely jump on that as soon as I get the car.

Maybe when it comes to losing a race and being underpowered while offering less than stellar utility. Different strokes for different folks I guess. They are pretty cars however.

One of my co-workers has an FRS. It is definitely a nice car, but WAY underpowered in my opinion. Plus, the interior is no where near as comfortable and well-appointed. It's a stripped down racer with no power. What use is that? Hopefully they fix that issue in an upcoming model year.

Don't rule out a base Mustang 5.0. Best bang for your buck if you want a 12 second car off the showroom floor.
