There is no time limit; however, in some cases it is called being polite. Someone comes on asking questions, and someone takes the time to answer, then a quick reply that could be just one sentence would be polite. If the person was run over by a car, shot by his significant other, fell off a mountain, eaten by a bear, then yea, I guess I would understand why they never replied.

But, I guess it is my fault for replying and I will make sure that never happens again.
