The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa is an awesome place, the photos, the articles on the wall, very cool. I always liked the song "American Pie" but didn't realize the connection until I was at the Surf. I also didn't know Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on the plane but wasn't. He gave his seat up to one of the guys that didn't feel good and took the bus instead.
