I've worked with some of these H-1B visa holders, and I can tell you first hand that they are not any more skilled or more hardworking than Americans with the same background.
It amazes me that the PC was advanced mostly by college dropouts and people that just liked tinkering with this new little gadget.
Many of the early pioneers of PC based networks were on their own to educate themselves. There were no college courses for anything other than main frames. In those days you had to find your own way, network with other people that were working on PC’s and share information. Anyone remember the “bulletin boards”?
Now you have to have every certification known and a masters degree to work on a PC help desk in India.
And the funniest part is that the PC server has been advanced to the point that “most” of the time when a PC server crashes all it takes is a reboot to bring it backup.
