Mexico may be grasping at straws--------with the hardening anti illegal immigration rhetoric (and enforcement) here in the USA; Calderon et al are scared out of their goards------and, hiding their fear behind machismo.
Note too that Mexico is still dealing with the fallout of the razor thin election results between Lopez Obrador who generally represented the poorer Native America Mexicans and Calderon who was supported by the wealthier White Mexican elite.
Translation: there is some real fear SOB that Mexico may wind up disintegrating with the demarcation line S of Nuevo Leon, Sonora, Baja, etc. (all of which are border states to the USA).
Apparently; NL in particular is becoming uber pissed at subsidizing Oaxaca, Chiapas, etc.
