Looks like she was deported once and then came back in illegally again which spells "felony". If tried and convicted of the felony, she/he will get protection behind bars, well, at least from his/her abuser.
I would think that any criminal at a courthouse could be apprehended, a criminal is after all a criminal and subject to apprehension. Felony conviction should take care of it.

That was not all that article stated: "The*ICE spokeswoman said the woman had a “lengthy criminal history with at least eight convictions on charges including false imprisonment, assault, domestic violence and illegal re-entry,” and had been deported six times."
When it comes to the record many tell us that President Obama deported many more than Trump. But, my feeling is, that the illegal community is concerned that these ICE raids will not be catch and release. Plus, once on the other side of the border; it will be considerably harder to come back - if not impossible.
