PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An immigrant activist who took refuge at an Oregon church more than a month ago to avoid deportation has been arrested on federal charges of illegal re-entry.

Francisco Aguirre, who came to the U.S. from El Salvador nearly two decades ago, was arrested Thursday at the Clackamas County Circuit Court. He was there to settle a DUI case.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported Aguirre to El Salvador in 2000 after a drug conviction. He then unlawfully re-entered the country.Moderator cut: quote shortened, copyright protection
Oregon immigrant who hid in a church gets arrested

It's about time. Since when is a church a embassy? They should have gotten a warrant, busted in there, and dragged his butt out.

What an idiot, deported for drug dealing, knows the authorities are looking for him, then shows up to court for a DUI issue he has.

He just made it that much easier to get caught.

Let's see, he was a convicted drug dealer, already deported once, drunk driver AND ignores the cop, laws and sovereignity of the USA.

This clown is someone we definitely don't want or need in the USA.

His supporters are completely clueless. If you are in favor of open borders and amnesty, do you really want this guy to be the face of "undocumented" immigrants? Let's be honest here. If this guy were a blond Scandinavian, no one would lift a finger to champion his cause. But because he is a "person of color" he is automatically the victim, and any attempt at enforcing the law is just racism. Just look at the establishment in this country come together to support guys like this: the government, big business, labor unions, the press, academia, the churches. The only ones in favor of securing the border, and enforcing the law, seems to be the American people. Even here in Oregon, which overwhelmingly voted against drivers licenses for illegal immigrants, the people are against it.
