An initiative to give residency permits to immigrants living in California illegally is gaining momentum in the country’s most populated state, where backers of the measure are gearing up to begin collecting signatures to get the proposal before voters in 2016, according to Los Angeles Daily News. The California Immigration Reform Act would require permit holders to pay state income taxes and bar the state from using public funds to aid federal immigration enforcement.

This is madness. A state has no right to do this. Something tells me being hard up for taxes has something to do with it as well.
Yeah, I think so to. Calif. is deep in debt and going broke. The fools in our government are too stupid to realize or admit that much of it has to do with providing benefits for illegal aliens. But instead of implementing things to get rid of them and discouraging so many from coming to our state they just make our state a sanctuary state for them they think this is the answer.
Oldglory---I was wondering, have you or anyone you know been approached to sign this petition? If you haven't yet, I suggest spreading the word among people you know so that they won't sign it either.
As for this whole nightmare of a proposal---well, Gee, why should anyone bother to apply to come here legally? Just move to CA and the state will make them legal!
I haven't been approached to sign anything in Illinois but true story, I got a call to donate to the legalization cause. Some left wing organization assumed because I have some liberal views I'm for legalization. I tore into them and said I won't donate to them now.

No, I haven't been approached as of yet. If and when I am I will vehemently tell them why I won't sign it. I have several conservatives friends and I will get the word out to them also.
