I came across this article from Gallup recently and wanted to share, as the survey results were surprising.

Quote:
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Two in three U.S. adults favor a plan to allow immigrants who are living illegally in the U.S. to remain in the country and become citizens if they meet certain requirements over time. Far fewer support allowing those immigrants to remain in the U.S. to work for a limited period of time (14%), or to deport all of these immigrants back to their home countries (19%). U.S. adults' views have been largely stable over the past decade.

In U.S., 65% Favor Path to Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants

More than half of U.S. citizens believe that most or all of the country's 11 million illegal immigrants should be deported, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday that highlights the difficulties facing lawmakers trying to reform the U.S. immigration system.

OP, they also support making our border stronger. If we don't do something about it first people will keep coming illegally and we'll go through this over and over again. It will never end.

No amnesty; they'll never stop if we go soft on illegal immigration. Look at the effect the '86 amnesty has had.

No amnesty ever for any of them.

I have a problem with all these polls.

I am 63 yrs old and have never, ever been asked to participate in one the these polls. And they are supposed to be representative? Hardly and untrustworthy.

A lot of it is how the question is asked and in what context. Online polls are always suspect as they attract those with a specific interest in the question.

The Gallup results have been the same for years. There is no popular majority in favor of deportation.

It is why the antis waste our time and make the problem worse. Delay simply prevents getting into a situation where the illegal aliens can be successfully managed.

Now this is more incline with what most of our friends and family feel on this important matter. Even good democrat friends of ours, truly have had enough. It is the one thing, they will not waiver on, they said enough is enough, couple years back, their stance was different.

I wonder why the change in them myself. Have not asked them why the change.

Is this post a joke, you have lived 63 years and don't understand how statistical sampling works?

I can't figure out how these polls can have diametrically opposite findings just within two years.

It absolutely impossible to take a poll and get an accurate finding. If I fund the poll, it is going to say what I want it to say and that is how it works. Why this is done is that I try to break you down by showing you that you are in the minority. It is a very immature way to go about it along the lines of "Well, mom, everyone else is doing it." Some moms not so smart buy that and others not.

Many people are too lazy to think or do any research, sheeple.

Hispanics are favoring it less than in 2006: Gallup: Nearly One Quarter of Hispanics Do Not Favor a Path to Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants Now, that makes you wonder. That can't be about race can it?

No, what they are doing is saying something again and again to try to make you believe it.

One thing I wonder about these polls is how many people would really have the nerve to express their opinions openly for fear of persecution? And, most people that feel strongly about issues also value their privacy and step forward to vote for those that have similar values rather than participate in polls. I don't participate in polls as I think they are nonsense. You cannot get a big enough sample size. I had a college class in probability and statistics, very interesting.

I just came across this article and am adding it here as my edit: https://www.numbersusa.com/news/poll...itizenship-and Ah, this seems to contradict what the OP has referenced.
