ALERT! California legislators seek to expand use of Matricula Consular cards to notary publics!
State Senator Lou Correa, D-Santa Ana, and Assemblyman Juan Arambula, D-Fresno, have introduced legislation that would allow notaries in California to accept Matricula Consular cards as valid identification.

The only purpose for Matricula Consular identification cards is to facilitate illegal immigration. The present law allows foreign nationals to use passports bearing an immigration service stamp.

The National Notary Association opposes this legislation "due to the non-existence of any means of verifying the true identify of the card holder."

In testimony before Congress, the FBI stated:

[C]onsular ID cards are primarily being utilized by illegal aliens in the United States.... The Department of Justice and the FBI have concluded that the Matricula Consular is not a reliable form of identification.

Please contact your Sacramento officials to oppose SB 461 and AB 442, outrageous efforts to blur the line between legal and illegal behavior.

ACTION NEEDED
Let your state Senator and Assemblymember know that you disagree with this attempt to expand acceptance of the Matricula Consular card. Send a fax or an e-mail by entering your ZIP Code and clicking "Go!" below.

Santa Ana and Fresno, wow what a surprise. I've clicked and sent. The FBI knows what's up.

Why am I not suprised to see this coming out of California? Maybe the rest of the nation CAN find a middle ground in the illegal immigration issue!
Let's send all of our illegals to California! If the Californians want to welcome the illegals with open arms, then send 'em west!

Ah yes, more garbage. La Raza and the ACLU will likely protest in favor of this incredibly safe plan.

Senator and Assemblymember contacted.
