This is precisely why illegal immigration has been able to flourish in this country. What can we expect when employers receive a wink and a nod, and a slap on the wrist?

Federal prosecutors say a former executive at a beef processing plant has been fined $15,000 and sentenced to probation for his part in the employment of 15 illegal immigrants.

Exactly! A thousand bucks per head isn't near enough penalty for them. The fines should be much stiffer along with some jail time. Second offense you lose your licence to do business and your assets confiscated.

E-verify must be mandated in every workplace for prior hires and potential hires.

It should have been 10 grand per offense.

I would like to see it even higher – a minimum of 100 grand for each offense. For some companies that would still be considered petty cash.

I say the total amount in dollars of gross sales, while the illegals are there, times(x) the amount of illegals unveiled at the time of discovery, is seized.

This is how it starts, by fining the enablers. I wonder when the people will actually rise up and start blaming the Federal Government for completely ignoring the issue!

$100 grand would be about right -- when you consider that the illegals bring many children to attend schools here at $12,000 a year each and that this employer most likely did not provide any kind of health insurance for any of his illegals, $1000 is a joke.

Also these dishonest crooks gladly put honest businesses that employ Americans and even pay legal wages plus offer job benefits, so they should be made to pay for the damages they've done.

If your company grossed $500,000
You were caught on the books, or documented that 10 illegals worked at your company.
500,000
x 10
=5,000,000 Fine

And 5 years no parole, in a dark cell.

That should deter them from thinking about it, wouldn't you say.
