Get on the stick folks. You've got some heavy duty emailing to do! I just used it to send a couple of scorching emails to Feinstein, Boxer and ALL 82 of their staffers.

Follow the instructions to get to the page with the email addresses. Highlight and copy all email addresses, then click on Outlook formatted "email first 50 staffers." Works like a dream!

Default I hate to burst your bubble

But since e-mail is so easy (especially with programs like the one you linked to), most politicians give e-mail the same consideration that the rest of us do the "better than viagra" and "please send me money to secure your inheritance" e-mails.

To really get your message across, you will need to do it the old fashioned way and call or write a letter. The elected leaders may not be too bright, but they are not dumb enough to believe that 10,000 copies of the same e-mail mean that everyone is thinking in unison.

Believe it or not, an articulately written, well thought out email does elicit personal replies, I know...I've gotten them.

If you had looked at this site, which by the very opening sentence of your reply, it is obvious you did not, you would have realized that it is not a program that sends the same email 10,000 times to one politician. It allows you to send your own personalized email from your email server to individual representatives, while copying every single solitary person on their staff. In other words, it just fills in the addresses. You must actually put your thinking cap on and write a coherent and intelligible letter to your representative on your own accord.

I sent an email to Barbara Boxer and every one of her 82 staff members. If you don't think that receiving irate emails from their bosses constituents will light a fire under those staff members and encourage them to "share" the news with the boss, you're sadly mistaken. A Senator's office works just like a business. If enough people receive your letter of complaint, someone at the top is going to hear about it. All it takes is enough people taking advantage of a service that allows you to email your selected representatives and every one of their staff members, such as this one.

I make dozens of phone calls to various representatives every day. This is just an added bonus which allows me to harass them electronically as well in a much more thorough fashion than sending an email via some representative's web site to a single representative who may or may not read it. Out of the 80 some odd folks most elected representatives have on their staff, somebody will read it and will think that it is worth sharing with the powers that be, especially if they begin to receive irate emails on a regular basis. That means more folks than just me have to participate.

The usage is up, quite a bit. I get CC'ed on lots of the emails and 99.9999% are related to illegal aliens.

I watch my server logs too. Some staffers search and locate my site or respond to emails I send. Some read these emails with blackberrys. I see "blackberry" in the webserver logs. The senate IP range is "156.33.X.X" I see hits from that range all the time.

FWIW, I know people that have emailed and gotten phone calls back from staffers.

Keep using it; chances are they will pass this crap but they'll at least know we don't like it.

Try sending your emails with "Request Read Receipt" (in Outlook Express it's under Tools while composing a message) When you do this they will be prompted to send you a reply that they've read the message

Thank you for providing such a terrific tool in the fight against illegal immigration, Mike. I appreciate every opportunity to harass Frankenfeinstein and Boxer that I can get. At the same time, I also appreciate the opportunity to thank those who are standing strong and making sure their staff knows just how much Americans appreciate the fact that they are standing up for our rights.

Not agreeing with you (or making a point that is contrary to your wishes) does not equal ignorance. In Troupe's post he put "I have over 15,000 staffer names in the database. Keeping it up to date is a large task. Plus, I'm not informed when staffers quit or are hired ...wonder why In 3 clicks you'll be typing your message (or pasting) to every staffer of a Rep or Senator..."

Sorry that I put 10K instead of the 15K bank of staffers you listed...Troupe also put "pasting" which frequently is re-sending someone else's message. Even if it is personally written, my original point of "e-mail makes it easier" is not changed. Being able to click on a name and have your message sent out is certainly a lot easier than even printing out extra copies and putting each into an individually addressed envelope... easier (and thus less effective), just like I said.

I know you may not be happy that there is no "silver bullet" that your side can use to amplify their influence, but that is the way it should be. A majority of Americans agree that immigration should be reformed.

Illegal Immigration
is only illegal until the law is changed. If that's what a clear majority want, then that is what will happen... regardless of how many "personalized e-mails" a staffer receives.
