Personalized Plates (costs, renewal, cars)

Hello from your neighbor in Missouri.

I've noticed one thing about cars with Illinois plates. You guys sure have a lot of drivers with personalized plates. I don't see too many of them with Missouri plates or from surrounding states.

Any explanation for the mass amounts of personalized plates?

Personalized plates here are pretty cheap, as long as you're willing to end it with at least one numeral. I think it's only an extra $20 a year or something. It's the full vanity plates with no numerals at all that are expensive, which is why you'll see a lot fewer of those.
